Karri and Jon knew they would host a destination wedding from the onset and Hawaii was chosen for the nostalgia factor: Karri, a Seattle native, spent family vacations on Maui where she fell in love with the beauty and spirit of the island. The couple's family and friends traveled from Europe to attend the celebration as Jon hails from England. The bride says, "We knew we wanted a vacation destination because our wedding would be the one time for all of our friends and family to be in one place and really bond for a week.

Our vision for the wedding was to create an intimate evening full of love and laughter for our closest family and friends. We wanted everyone to leave feeling as much love as Jon and I did that day.  We wanted to stay as true to the beauty of our location as possible when it came to the decor. I purposely chose simple white and green flowers and decor so as to highlight the ocean and greenery at the venue. We tried to use local florals as much as possible, as well. There were hints of mercury glass and vintage touches to tie in the old glamour of my dress.

My dress was a Jenny Packham gown "Anise" from her 2013 collection. My shoes were a simple Seychelles wedge (my bridesmaids had matching shoes in rose gold rather than turquoise). My bridesmaids all chose different designers for their dresses and had full reign to choose style. I picked an ombre pallet of turquoises and let them go from there. I believe that two girls chose Jim Hjelm dresses and one chose an Alfred Angelo. All of our hair and make-up was done by a Seattle friend and stylist, Gumaro Alfonso Pacheco.

One of my favorite details of the wedding was the tree-style guestbook that my mom made by hand.

I created our place holders, which were all small glass bottles with a love note placed inside. We left thank you notes instead of menus on each place setting, which were created and printed by Typecase Industries here in Washington, D.C.

Our wedding cake toppers were another fun detail and were custom painted by Goose Grease designs. A fun highlight to the night came as we were all dancing at the end of the evening and a warm rain shower rolled in. Everyone stayed out and danced in the rain together, creating this incredible moment none of us could have planned. Lastly, during our photo session a rainbow popped up in the background, giving us not only a little Hawaiian good luck but also some incredible pictures.
