Born and raised in the beautiful uplands of Maui, Jenni Vares and Chuck Robello knew their similar upbringing would influence their wedding aesthetic. After seven years together and a beautiful baby girl, the couple began the exciting process of wedding planning with the help of the bride’s sister, wedding coordinator Jacqueline Ishikawa of A White Orchid Wedding. With the bride growing up on a farm in Kula and the groom in the lush jungle of Huelo, their dream wedding venue came to life when they discovered the peaceful Ka Hale Olinda property, a renovated Hawaiian ranch home in Olinda, Maui. “Our theme had evolved from a mix of rustic, country, vintage with a touch of chic. Elements of burlap, pink & ivory lace, twine, wood burned hearts with our initials, doilies, old glass bottles, oak barrels & mason jars started making its way into the decor” Jenni describes. Hoping to add their own personal touches into the creation of their special day, the bride and groom enlisted the help of family and friends for various DIY projects including a marshmallow roasting pit for a delightful s’mores bar, sentimental heart frames with photos of their grandparents, and their coveted family banana bread recipe baked in mason jars as homemade favors. The bride says, “The day itself was just perfect— the weather was beautiful, the site looked gorgeous, we were surrounded by our family and friends, but most of all, we both got to marry our best friend.” Romantic photography by Joanna Tano Photography.
