Tomoko and Taihei hosted a beautifully simple and laid-back celebration at the Halekulani Hotel with a wedding reception at Kualoa Ranch in the Paliku Garden on Oahu. Event planner Sugako Johnson of Bliss Bridal worked closely with the bride to select a soft color story of mint green, coral, pink and tarnished gold. Florist Shilhi and her team at Passion Roots Floral & Event Design and her team designed whimsical arrangements at the ceremony and reception. After the ceremony, everyone took a boat to cross Molii Pond to get to Secret Island Beach for fun photo shoot
The bride wore a gorgeous Vera Wang gown of layered tulle.
Shilhi of Passion Roots Floral & Event Design created darling wrist corsages made of pink roses, succulents and pearls that were gifted to the ladiees in attendance.
The outdoor ceremony at Kualoa Ranch overlooked the Pacific Ocean and Chinaman’s Hat, with Koolau Mountains in the backdrop. Shilhi of Passion Roots Floral & Event Design decorated a birch arch with natural foliage.
Ribbon streamers in punches of mint, orange and watermelon pink adorned the chairs at the ceremony site.
Antique gold lanterns containing coral roses were placed along the aisle in loose rose petals in the grass. These lanterns were later moved to the reception table. Small mercury glass arrangements of pink and coral roses with foliage hung from the chairs.
For the floral direction, Shilhi of Passion Roots Floral & Event Design went with a playful but luscious look. Fun bright flowers accented the gold based centerpieces filled with different varieties of garden roses for a fun color palette of salmons, corals, and pinks accented with soft queen anne's lace and wispy fiolage.
A chalkboard sign with handwritten font displayed the dinner and bar menu for the day. A delicious barbeque feast was served up by EAT Honolulu.
For the reception, guests dined beneath a 20 x 40 grand white tent adorned in cafe bistro lights. Pale mint linens graced the tables with natural chiviari chairs.
A simply pretty wedding cake was frosted with mint buttercream and topped with a single coral rose. A table of sweets matched the pastel color story of the day.
The newlyweds held giant pink and peach balloons for a fun photo op.
