No detail was overlooked thanks to Los Angeles event planner Marianne Weiman-Nelson. On April 21, 2012 celebrants gathered on the hotel lawn where the lush, verdant landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. Nature’s bounty informed the décor as florist Nancy Kaye made beautiful use of the native flora. A 200-foot long natural bamboo aisle was lined in monstera leaves and white lanterns leading to a custom wedding arch draped in hundreds of white Polar Star roses, hydrangea and phalaenopsis orchids from the Big Island.

The bride was stunning in a strapless J. Mendel gown from Bergdorf Goodman, paired with a Tia Mazza floor length veil tucked under her chignon. Rob was debonair in a slate grey bespoke Brooks Brothers suit and Yves Saint Laurent wing tips.

Amy’s rosette and pearl heels were handmade in Italy by one of her dearest friends, Danielle Scarpulla, a designer at Manolo Blahnik.

Designer Marianne Weiman-Nelson of Special Occasions created organic wood veneer wedding booklets for the guests.

The bride carried a pretty bouquet of her favorite blooms, ivory peonies from Holland.

The newlyweds generously gifted the groomsmen made-to-measure Brooks Brothers suits and monogrammed sterling silver cuff links, while the ladies in the bridal party received Monique Lhuillier bridesmaids dresses, Plum Pretty Sugar robes, rose quartz earrings and bracelets and custom-made Manolo Blahnik heels.

During the lei exchange, Amy received a triple strand of white hearts of crown flower, known as pua kalaunu in Hawaiian.

For dessert, a decadent four-tier pineapple cake with buttercream icing was served alongside a chocolate groom’s cake with ganache to guests’ delight.

Like every fabulous party, the wedding reception at the historic Plantation House came together with laughter, dancing, wonderful food and impromptu fun. The pair adhered to a classic palette of white and silvery grey for the party under a grand tent on the front lawn. The team at Revelry Event Designers created a stunning scene with elegant fabric drapery beneath the tent with capiz chandeliers for ambient lighting. Round tables were dressed in white linen overlays with capiz chargers, mother-of-pearl vessels and mercury glass votives.

Monochromatic white centerpieces of Dutch tulips, peonies, Ecuadorian roses, gardenias and phalaenopsis orchids appeared in distressed silver leaf vases.
