It's no surprise that we're all about fresh and modern events here at PW and the team of designers at Handmade Events in California is redefining this aesthetic one pop-up wedding at a time. Famed for their pop-up dinner parties across the globe (remember their incredible all-white dinner parties in Miami, San Francisco and Brooklyn?), Handmade Events is spreading its wings with PopUp Weddings, their latest project creating unexpected, one-of-a-kind experiences for brides and grooms.

"Designed for open-minded, non-traditional couples with a sense of adventure, Pop-up Weddings eliminates the stuffy formality and stress that go with planning a wedding, but still takes care of every unique detail. There are no formal invitations to a pop-up wedding; on the big day, the planners gather guests under false pretenses, surprising them with an affair to remember. Only when they arrive do they realize that they are walking into a wedding."

PopUp Weddings tells us, "The inspiration for this shoot was the beautiful Santa Monica Pier. When deciding which spot to host one of our first styled shoots, we thought what better place than this! We decided to play off of the fun and vibrant colors the Pier has to offer as well as bringing in the carnival touches such as the tickets and the cotton candy maker. We decided to have our bride dressed in a short laced dress to play off the quality of the carnival but to have lace as a contrast to the space. Our groom wore a tailored gray suit that also added to our mix on tradition and modern twists. We thoroughly enjoyed designing this shoot and couldn't have done it without our amazing team!"

PopUp Weddings currently offer the Elopement Package for up to 50 guests, and the Intimate PopUp Wedding Package for up to 100 guests. They work with the most iconic locations in California including Golden Gate Park, Union Square, the Santa Monica Pier and Will Rogers State Park.
