We have a truly beautiful destination wedding to share today. Amanda and Doug traveled to the island of Maui with their families to be wed among the sea. The couple hosted both their ceremony and reception at one of western Maui's most beautiful ocean lookouts. The Montage at Kapalua Bay boasts incredible views of the Pacific with with a private historic cliff house that can be reserved for special events.

One of the most important parts of Amanda and Doug's wedding was the inclusion of their families. Their entire wedding was very intimate and only included immediate family. They even had every one dress in coordinating colors! It served as a great touch to make the group feel more cohesive on the day of their wedding and look beautiful in the photographs. Doug also shared about some of their most adored guests, "It was really special for us to have Amanda's 95 year old grandmother and her grandmother's 90 year old sister attend our wedding. It reminded us of the importance of family on our very special day."

One of Amanda's favorite moments was the time before and after the ceremony dedicated to taking photographs, with just the two of them and their photographer. Doug told us that they created the most romantic and silly memories from this time!

"We kept our aesthetic for the dinner afterward simple and elegant. We wanted to capture the natural beauty of Hawaii, with simple wooden elements and local plants. Doug choose the look of the dinner menus, which were hand-written on large banana leaves. Everyone remarked on how interesting they were and wanted to take them home!"

Local floral designer Bella Bloom created a tropical yet sophisticated gracious display of white tropical blooms surrounded by fresh greenery.

Amanda and Doug held their reception at the historic and unparalleled Cliff House, a private waterfront venue at the Montage Kapalua Bay: "We loved the Cliff House, especially because we were able to open the windows and be surrounded by the ocean. It really felt like we were on our own private island." The reception was accented with local acoustic musician David Bailey. His playing added a beautiful dimension to the simple beauty that the couple wanted to capture.
