While traditionally loved for its vibrant tropical flora and soft blue oceanscapes, the island of Maui has a very lush and moody alter ego. Hawaii destination wedding photographer Melia Lucida has a talent for coaxing out the sensual nature of Upcountry Maui. Along the slopes of Haleakala lies the historic ranching town of Makawao-- home to the Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center. The expansive grounds surround a historic mansion built in 1917. The culture of arts in Hawaii and paniolo country merge to create the lush backdrop for this tantalizing elopement.

Maui wedding planner Opihi Love, together with ROA Floral and Event Design, curated an enticing display of king protea, blush anthuriums, pink ginger, and white anemones surrounded by creamy roses and deep greenery. Robin egg blue dinnerware rimmed in gold and bespoke hand-written menus adorned wooden farm tables

CC of ROA Floral and Event Design shared her inspiration for her floral design:

"Because of [the venue's] natural beauty, as a designer, I felt I should leave the space as it was. Minimal floral blooms were needed to be added as everything in this space was perfect as-is and spoke for itself, as Mother Nature had created."
