I think it’s safe to say that most of us who have ever planned a wedding have entertained the idea of getting away from it all and eloping in some far-flung, exotic island paradise. Jessica and Adam had the courage to do it and the result is as romantic and dreamy as it sounds. The couple of 7 years were ready to make it official and opted for a wedding with no guests (besides wedding photographer James Rubio and officiant Brad Mockschew). The locale? The Big Island’s Waipio Valley for its undeniable beauty. Jessica says, “Wild horses, black sand beaches, 8 rivers, a tropical plantation, waterfalls and my favorite part— those stunning trees! We rented a cliff house directly above the valley on 42 acres.”

Jessica says, “We wanted to begin our new adventure in a special, private, sacred way and ensure the day would be solely about our promise to each other. We’re not the type of people who enjoy the spotlight.” The gorgeous couple wrote 3 pages of vows to one another! “Without an audience we were able to be open and raw… I only saw and heard Adam. It was incredible!,” the bride says. Since Jessica is a professional hair and makeup artist, she was perfectly comfortable getting ready on her wedding day. Jessica says, “We will never forget that day. James Rubio is the most talented photographer I have ever come across. His excitement to be in the valley taking photos projected an energy that aided in an even more glorious day for me and my husband.”
