Often times, when photographers touch down in the Hawaiian Islands, they are a bit shocked by the harsh direct sunlight that shines throughout the day. There are those moments of hazy, cloud cover (early, early morning and the rare sunset) when that soft, magic natural light appears.

Oahu-based photographer Amber Schoniwitz of Schyne Photography captured this darling on Kawela Bay on the North Shore. She tells us, "On that rare occasion--when the waves are exceptionally big on the North Shore of Oahu creating a sea mist-- with the addition of the perfect golden hour, light leaks through the trees almost like a natural fog machine.  This was one of the perfect days."
